Early Entrance Foundation: Accomplishments
The Early Entrance Foundation is non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 2004. It is a working group of parents, alumni, students, and friends committed to the support of early entrance programs and their alumni.
Due to our location in the Los Angeles area, primary outreach is to prospective students for the CSULA program, and dissemination of information to schools, guidance counselors, testers and psychologists/psychologists in the LA area. Members of the Foundation have attended, at their own expense, the following conferences: CAG, NAGC, SENG, and WCGT. Since its founding in 2004, Foundation members have worked to raise money and outreach for current and potential EEP participants. The Foundation has worked with parents and administrators of the CSULA EEP to coordinate annual giving requests and electronic scrip donations. This website was created, and plans were initiated for improved communications among parents of the CSULA EEP as well as between programs -- the 2004 new parent welcome party included guest speaker Jan Davidson from the Davidson Institute. Foundation members have published articles in local and national magazines. Foundation members have reached out to all the gifted middle and high school LAUSD gifted magnet programs.
Future plans include:
initiating grant requests to both corporations and foundations
outreach to profoundly gifted students and their parents throughout America
attending all convenient national and California state Gifted Conferences
examination of the feasibility of expansion of the CSULA EEP concept to other locations nationwide
grant-writing to underwrite the costs of a national scope
