To get to the new EEP space, enter the King Hall doors on the far left, and go down the stairs to the "Garden Level."
The EEP space will be the first three doors on the right (use the second door to get to the EEP office).
Rich waves from his new office.
We need some new furniture better suited to the size of the new office space to allow up to three staff people in the office.
And new counselor furniture too, since the old sofas do not fit in the smaller office.
The new living room space feels enormous, and will obviously be improved by the new bigger flat-screen tv,
we have planned so that it can be viewed everywhere throughout the huge new space.
♥ A BIG thank-you to the Lin family for their incredibly generous offer ♥
♥ of a brand new Vizio 42" 1080p LCD flat-screen TV! Our PEEPs are the best! ♥
We are also looking to add some color to the space. And, yes EEPsters, we are looking into replacing the foosball table....maybe
The new study and meeting room is in desperate need of new furniture -- you can't see what bad shape this furniture is in from the photos,
but ask your EEPster! It is literally coming apart at the seams. We plan to buy a new chess table for here too.
The library does not need any furniture, but perhaps a little rearranging.
And the EEPsters all love having cubbies for everyone!
A little refinishing to spruce up this area cosmetically is all that is needed here.
For the kitchen/game room we plan to install upper cabinets along the whole wall.
The counter is higher-than-normal, so these upper cabinets will be hard to access, but perfect for all those
once or twice a year items needed for Catalina camping and the biannual Talent Search.
And better storage options for cleaning supplies (like mops) as well as for games.
And last but certainly not least, the computer room. Upgrades here too!
Note that there is very convenient short-term parking -- right behind the building!
Three spots at meters -- 50¢ for 30 minutes. Then just go in the glass doors to the right and EEP is at the end on the left.
EEP parents and alumni parents are now in process of purchasing some new furniture for all the space.
Keep an eye out for the revised wish-list for this year. While there is a lot to buy, we fortunately knew
that this move was upcoming for three years now, so we have accumulated a nice nest egg
which is enough for the living room space; we hope to raise enough money for the kitchen soon.
We are contracting with a designer (CSULA alum!) who will get us commercial-grade furniture at GSA-pricing
(a special discount for non-profits). Obviously, we are not replacing all the furniture with new,
but we do plan on repairing or replacing the worn-out furniture, as well as supplementing with furniture
with higher functionality designed just for the current space. Plus refinishing the counters and cabinets.
♥ And, thanks again to the Lin family for that all-important first-priority addition of a huge flat-screen tv! ♥
Check back for the after pictures!
