Dear EEP Parent,

Welcome to the new school year! This is an exciting time for the 16 new incoming freshmen, just starting their first quarter in college, as well as for the 110 returning EEPsters who are continuing on their college paths. It is also time for the annual request for your help.

While the move to the new space in King Hall is temporarily postponed, Rich still hopes to not only get the new space in the long term, but also get an additional room next door in Fine Arts in the short term. Thus, until the final decisions are made on the EEP space requests, Rich plans to use the 2008-2009 money for the benefit of the kids just in the current space. Remember that everything you see in the EEP rooms has been bought with the generous donations of our PEEPs -- every piece of furniture, and even the computers, paper and ink!

You can imagine the damage and wear-and-tear that 126 energetic teenagers can wreak with years of constant use. Rich will use this year's donations to purchase needed new furniture, supplies and services. Some of the items include new entertainment (including the ever-popular foosball table), educational dvds, new cubbies, new shelving in the living lounge, some computer accessories, as well as furniture repair and miscellaneous. Hopefully, there will be lots of items needed for the new space next door in Fine Arts.

We need your help. Participation is important, so we hope every family will donate something, whatever the amount. The most cost-effective form of payment is by check. Therefore, please make your donation by check -- make it out to "Early Entrance Foundation" and mail it to:

If your employer has matching funds, we would be happy to help with any forms. Remember, 100% of the funds raised go directly to EEP, and 100% of your donations are tax-deductible. We will send you a receipt for your tax records.

P.S. Note that the Foundation also accepts directed donations in addition to unrestricted donations. Directed donations can be specified as solely for the new EEP space, scholarships, for Rich's education (he finishes his Ph.D. this year, at USC, and that has been an expensive undertaking), or other items of choice.
