2007 EEP grads

  • Elizabeth Chamberlain (Monrovia), 16, English major. Chamberlain, the University's youngest graduating senior, plans to travel abroad for a year before applying to graduate school to pursue her goal of becoming a university professor.
  • Joyce Ho (Arcadia), 20, biochemistry major. Ho, a recipient of an Alumni Scholarship and a Golden Eagle Award of Excellence, plans to apply to medical school to pursue a career in science or medicine.
  • Christopher Humphrey (Pasadena), 19, computer science major. Humphrey has been offered a job at CZ Appliance Inc. upon graduation. Humphrey, named Cal State L.A.'s 2007 Computer Science Student of the Year, recently took 4th place in the West coast section of Microsoft's programming competition, The ImagineCup.
  • Albert Hung (San Gabriel), 19, biology major. Hung, who volunteers at Huntington Memorial Hospital, plans to apply to medical school and become a physician.
  • Andrew Jick (Altadena), 19, business administration, option in business arts-prelegal; minors in economics and English. Jick will be interning with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, in the Government Benefits Unit in the East L.A. office, throughout the summer to obtain pre-law exposure. Jick, who is graduating summa cum laude, will apply to law school this fall.
    Update (2008): Andrew Jick is one of only 60 students nationwide to be awarded a prestigious Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) Graduate Fellowship for the 2008-2009 academic year. Jick was also singled out as this year's Phi Kappa Phi Kathleen Greey Fellow. He will begin attending the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in the fall, planning to pursue a career in corporate litigation. He was also admitted to law schools at Cornell University, Georgetown University, UCLA, USC, and the University of Virginia. (article)
  • Paisley Kadison (Beverly Hills), 18, English major. Kadison has been admitted to Stanford School of Law, with a goal to become an entertainment or sports lawyers. She spent one year at Oxford University in England, studying English language and literature.
  • Clare Kasper (San Marino), 19, biology major; philosophy minor. Kasper, who will graduate magna cum laude, will attend the University of Iowa Carve College of Medicine this fall. She has conducted research through Cal State L.A.'s CURE, a program that provides research and training opportunities.
  • Michael Kovshilovsky (Torrance), 20, biology major. Kovshilovsky, who will graduate magna cum laude, plans to attend the UCLA School of Medicine this fall. He was also accepted to University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and Albany Medical College.
  • Tiffany Kwong (La Habra Heights), 20, physics major. Kwong plans to apply to graduate school to pursue a Ph.D. in physics education. She received the G.E. Honors Scholarship.
  • Owynn Lancaster (Shadow Hills), 18, anthropology major. Lancaster plans to apply to graduate school next year. He will be working as a substitute teacher after graduation.
  • Jackie Lechtholz-Zey (Los Angeles), 19, business administration major, option in business arts-prelegal; minor in economics and sociology, option in law and society. Lechtholz-Zey, who will graduate magna cum laude, plans to apply to law school after taking the LSAT in September. In addition to her dual goal of obtaining a law degree and a master's in business administration, she hopes to start her own makeup design line or run an interior design company. She currently works at a real-estate development company.
  • Herbert Lee (Pasadena), 21, computer science and biology majors. Lee will begin the doctorate program in computer science at UC Santa Cruz this fall. He will continue his research in bioinformatics after graduation.
  • Pamela Lee (Pasadena), 18, biochemistry major. Lee plans to apply to medical school after graduation. She has been a medical volunteer at USC County Hospital.
  • Samantha Lee (Monterey Park), 20, biology major. Lee will be working as a grant writer for Northeast Valley Health Corporation to gain work experience before applying to graduate school. She hopes to pursue a master's degree in public health, with focus on health management and policy in HIV/AIDS prevention and education.
  • Chris Lemcke (Burbank), 20, computer science major, minors in math and creative writing. Lemcke will begin working as a web developer after graduation.
  • Ronald Masson (Los Angeles), 17, biology major. Masson, who has conducted research on sendai virus and cardio vascular disease, plans to apply to medical school.
  • Michelle Morales (Alhambra), 19, biology major. Morales will be attending the Yale University School of Medicine this fall. She was also accepted to Vanderbilt, Cornell, UCLA, University of Iowa and Temple. She received the David Cameron Fisher Memorial Scholarship, the Alumni Scholarship, the Ron & Nan Okum Scholarship and the NSS Dean's Scholarship.
  • Timothy Ng (Duarte), 22, biology major; minors in math and Chinese. Ng, who received the 2007-08 Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship, will attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine this June. He was also accepted to Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He currently works at the City of Hope Beckman Research Institute.
  • Laura Petersen (Pasadena), 19, psychology major. Petersen, who plans to pursue a career in clinical psychology, research and clinical practice, has been accepted to the Columbia University psychology graduate program. Named Student Organization Member of the Year in 2006, she represented Cal State L.A. at the 2006 CSU Statewide Research Competition.
  • Andrew Post (Altadena), 18, computer science and applied mathematics major. Post, who received the University's 2007 Phi Kappa Phi Certificate of Merit, will be attending USC Gould School of Law in the fall. He was also admitted to Duke University.
  • Stephanie Tan (Monterey Park), 18, biochemistry major. Tan, the third sibling in her family to graduate from Cal State L.A.'s Early Entrance Program, will take a year off from school to gain work experience; she then plans to attend medical school and become a medical doctor. She will graduate magna cum laude.
  • Catherine Tung (Rowland Heights), 19, biology major. Tung is deciding whether to pursue a teaching credential or to apply to graduate school for a master's degree in public health.
  • Geoffrey Yang (Lancaster), 18, biology major. Yang, who will graduate magna cum laude, will attend Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in July. He was also accepted to Jefferson Medical College, University of Rochester, and Drexel University.

  • Joshua Cain (Los Angeles), 18, computer science major, a partner for 10point10 Media since last year, will continue to work as a web developer for the company after graduation.
  • Rex Cheng (Arcadia), 19, biochemistry major, is one of only 60 in the nation awarded a $5,000 National Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship. Cheng, graduating magna cum laude, will attend the Duke University School of Medicine in July. He was also accepted to Washington University School of Medicine.
  • Michael Fenton (Los Angeles), 18, philosophy (pre-law) majo, with an interest in film, plans to apply to law school after completing his internship at a production film company.
  • Joanna Ghosh (Los Angeles), 18, philosophy (pre-law) major, has been accepted by the London School of Economics and Political Science to attend its one-year master's program in political theory. Her goal is to earn a juris doctorate and practice law, especially international law.
  • Christopher Lee (North Hollywood), 17, physics major, will attend UC San Diego's Ph.D. program in physics this fall, has also been accepted to doctoral programs at Columbia, UC Irvine and University of Maryland-College Park. A recipient of numerous scholarships, Lee will be graduating summa cum laude.
  • Joanne Lee (Riverside), 17, economics major. Lee, the University's youngest graduating senior, was admitted to UC Berkeley's Agricultural and Resource Economics Program on a research assistantship with tuition and stipend. She was also accepted to UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Riverside and UC Santa Cruz.
  • Robert Martin (Los Angeles), 18, French major, geography minor, will be traveling to Krakow, Poland, in the summer to begin graduate studies at Jagiellonian University.
  • Erik Mendoza (Ontario), 18, physics major.
  • Aditi Mhaskar (Glendora), 19, biochemistry major; mathematics, philosophy minor, wants to become a physician focusing on either pediatrics or geriatrics, will be attending Drexel University College of Medicine in August.
  • Ani Muradyan (Glendale), 17, history major, is planning to work for a year and gain some career experience before applying to law school.
  • Jeshanah Naranjo (Los Angeles), 20, theatre arts and dance major, whose ultimate career objective is to direct socially provocative feature films, plans to pursue a master's degree in film.
  • Helen Nieman (San Marino), 19, political science (pre-law) major, will be working on the Olympic Planning Committee in Beijing, China, after graduation. She plans to apply to law school after completing this internship.
  • Myle Ott (Santa Monica), 17, computer science major, received the University's Phi Kappa Phi Certificate of Merit, will be attending Cornell University in the fall on full tuition and teaching assistantship. He was also accepted to UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and USC.
  • Justin Padilla (Quartz Hill), 18, Computer Science major, plans to apply to graduate school next year.
  • Suvag Kumar Patnaik (Murrieta), 19, biology major, will attend the Keck School of Medicine of USC in the fall.
  • Andre Petrikovets (Los Angeles), 19, biology major, Cal State L.A.'s 2005 Outstanding Senior Award, plans to apply to medical or dentistry school.
  • Neshan Weiss Sarkisian (Glendale), 19, biology major, plans to pursue a Ph.D. in zoology, will work for the Entomology Department of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles after graduation.
  • Gabe Sharaf (Pacific Palisades), 19, electrical engineering major, plans to pursue a career in aerospace industry, particularly in space technology, will attend USC Viterbi School of Engineering in the fall.
  • Winny Shen (Diamond Bar), 18, psychology major, will be attending one of the top psychology doctoral programs in the nation, University of Minnesota. She was also accepted to two other renowned psychology doctoral programs.
  • Charissa Silva (Whittier), 18, psychology major, whose research has been published already in professional journals, was admitted to Cal State L.A.'s psychology master's program with a Biomed PREP (Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program) Fellowship, fully funding her graduate research.
  • Ronald Tan (Monterey Park), 20, biochemistry major, will be applying to medical school.
  • Jeffrey Walsh (Lancaster), 20, mathematics major.
  • Lei Zhao, 18, electrical engineering major, communications minor, first-place winner of this year's CSU Statewide Research Competition, will attend Georgia Tech in the fall. He was also accepted to UC San Diego, Purdue University, Brown University, UCLA, USC and Virginia Tech.

  • Katherine Chuang (19, computer science), is applying to the master's program in library science at UCLA.

  • Andrew Greene (19, computer information systems), Seeking a job in the film industry after graduation.
  • Mindi Hillman (22, liberal studies), is planning to attend CSUN to earn a credential as a sign language interpreter.
  • Jesse Hsieh (19, psychology), will be attending UCLA School of Law in the fall, and was accepted to George Washington Law School, Martin Luther King Law School (UC Davis), and is waitlisted at University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Duke, and Cornell.
  • Jordan Kubicki (19, psychology).
  • Karen Kuo (19, business administration), option marketing management (minor in economics). Karen is applying to NYU, Cornell and other master of science in direct and interactive marketing programs.
  • Geoff Lancaster (23, history), is also receiving a teaching credential
  • Nina Lu (20, biology), has been accepted to medical school at UC Davis and three other schools, including Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
  • David Nguyen (19, biology), is one of only 60 in the nation awarded the 2005 national Phi Kappa Phi fellowship. David will attend the University of Iowa's Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He was accepted at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York, and is wait-listed at David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA.
  • Brandon Pancost (19, computer science), Brandon, who will be attending USC master's program in computer science, was also accepted to the master's program at UCLA.
  • Dominique Roberts (18, political science), plans to attend Pepperdine University School of Law in the fall.
  • Jonathan Roberts (19, electrical engineering), will be seeking employment in the engineering field after graduation. He eventually plans to return for a graduate degree in engineering after working in the field.
  • Frank Sy (18, biochemistry), Frank will be attending Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine in the fall.
  • Jackson Vane (21, biology). Jackson will be attending Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago [formerly Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School].
